3 Star HotelTrip Introduction of 12 Days Yala Peak Climbing
Just to the north of Kathmandu in the Langtang National Park lies the 5500m Yala Peak nestled in a picturesque valley with rich grazing grasslands of the Tamang people. The Langtang Himal range, which is situated in the center of Nepal, includes Yala Peak. Yala Peak’s base camp is Kyangjin Gompa, which is 3749 meters (12,300 feet) high.
Yala Peak, one of Nepal’s more accessible trekking peaks, is an excellent first mountaineering destination. Anyone with prior trekking expertise can easily complete the easy hike. We start in Syabrubesi after a 5 hour drive from Kathmandu and spend five days climbing up the picturesque Langtang Valley to Kyanjin Gompa at 3800m. Kyanjin Gompa is situated below Langtang Lirung (7246m) and we spend three days acclimatizing enjoying day-hikes in stunning settings. The following day, we ascend Yala Peak after setting up base camp on a meadow at 4800m. We begin our ascent under the stars and reach the summit by late morning, where we can enjoy a breathtaking view of Tibet and Shisapangma, the country’s only 8,000-meter peak. We will use crampons, an ice axe, and rope because the final 400 meters are on ice. Following the ascent, we travel back to Dhunche via Syabrubesi before continuing on to Kathmandu.

Most people ask about the trip - FAQs
What is trekking and what differentiates it from climbing and hiking?
Trekking is the practice of walking through natural areas, particularly mountainside areas, with the intention of discovering and taking in the view. Trekking typically involves walking for several days and spending the night on paths. It puts the trekker’s physical prowess, endurance, and stamina to the test as well as their mental fortitude. In contrast to hiking, which is mostly a recreational activity, trekking is a strenuous and difficult activity. In typically, hiking starts with a one-day stroll.
How many hours a day should I spend walking?
The trekking routes you select will determine how many hours you need to spend trekking. Walking five to six hours is typically required for treks like as the Everest Base Camp, Annapurna Circuit, Manaslu Circuit, and Kanchenjunga climbs. Your pace also affects how long it takes.
Trekking higher than 600 meters above sea level in a single day is not advised. To avoid the midday heat and reach your goal early, it is essential to begin your trip early. This gives you plenty time to relax, adjust, and discover the area.
How difficult is trekking in Nepal?
Trekking routes, such as those in the Annapurna, Everest, and other distant areas, determine the degree of difficulty. Additionally, it depends on each person’s endurance level. Trekking in Nepal’s high altitude region, which has incredibly difficult paths, requires a basic degree of fitness.
See Also: The Difficulty of the Manaslu Circuit Trek
It is essential to engage in cardiovascular exercises on a regular basis, such as swimming, cycling, and hiking. A healthy heart, lungs, and joints are essential for trekkers. The training regimen must begin at least two weeks prior to the expedition.
How safe is it to drink the water?
Nepal’s tap water is dangerous to consume. The hikers must either boil their water or use bottled water or water purification tablets. You must boil water for a longer period of time at higher elevations than at lower ones.
Always make sure the bottle cap is securely shut and undamaged if you decide to carry or purchase bottled water. Water purification tablets and drops, such as Piyush and Water Guard, purify water by using a chlorine solution.
To lessen dehydration and manage altitude sickness, you might employ any of these strategies and drink a lot of water.
What is Teahouse Trekking Nepal?
Teahouse trekking entails spending each night of your trekking adventure in a teahouse or lodge. The tea houses let hikers bring as little equipment as possible while providing the essential amenities for food and shelter.
A teahouse can be anything from cozy lodges, as in the Solu Khumbu region, to a little bamboo hut in the isolated western Nepalese trails.
Which permits are necessary for hiking? Can I submit an individual application?
For any trekking activity in Nepal, a TIMS (Trekkers’ Information Management Systems) card is a mandatory trekking permit. In addition, you will require region-specific trekking permits, which vary in price according on the locale.
For instance, if you wish to walk the Annapurna Circuit, you would require an ACAP (Annapurna Conservation Area Permit), and for the EBC journey, you will need a Sagarmatha National Park permit. The Nepal Tourism Board office in Kathmandu is where you may obtain the TIMS card and other licenses particular to your area.
Is Travel Insurance compulsory while you travel to Nepal?
Yes, all visitors to the area are required to have travel insurance. You need to purchase a top-notch travel insurance policy that includes coverage for emergency evacuation and medical expenses. It is best to have a minimum of $100,000 in travel insurance.
How can altitude sickness be prevented?
Acclimatization is the most important factor in preventing altitude sickness. In the high-altitude areas, you should not ascend more than 600 meters. Expert hikers advise against hurrying and instead to take it gradually.
Drinking at least five liters of water each day is essential. If necessary, you can also take preventative medications under a doctor’s supervision.
My backpack will be carried by whom?
During the high-altitude hike, you can hire a porter. They will transport all of your belongings, including your sleeping and hiking gear. The burden on your back is much lessened when you hire a porter.
You can bring a small daypack with rain gear, snacks, a camera, and water. A porter will carry the bulky stuff. Some guides also serve as porters.
How much weight can one porter carry?
A porter can carry up to 20 kilograms because they typically carry 10 kg for each client and two clients. Nonetheless, it is best to bring only the essential bags and to minimize the quantity of luggage.
Can I trek solo without a porter and guide?
Yes, there are numerous routes in Nepal where you can hike alone without a guide or porter. You can trek peacefully by yourself if you are well-prepared with a map or are following a well-traveled route.
Nonetheless, a guide is needed for certain restricted treks, such as the Manaslu Circuit Trek. However, there are risks associated with traveling without a guide, primarily relating to health problems and unusual weather.
Is it possible to rent hiking equipment and gear?
Yes, you can hire any kind of hiking gear or equipment. The well-known Thamel Street in Kathmandu is referred to as “backpacker’s alley.” Numerous trekking accessories, such as sleeping bags, down coats, and trekking boots, are available for rental.
Numerous knockoff brand gears are surprisingly effective. However, you should always avoid inferior products that could give you problems when trekking.
How much does it cost to get a Nepal visa?
According to the new clause, foreign visitors entering Nepal with a 15-day multiple-entry tourist visa will be required to pay $30 in fees. The fee is $50 for a 30-day tourist visa with multiple entries. The cost of the 90-day multi-entry tourist visa is approximately $125.
Is it possible to apply for a Nepal visa online?
You can apply for a Nepal visa online in advance, even though the majority of visitors apply for their visas when they arrive. You have no more than 15 days before your trip to Nepal to apply for a Nepal visa. The hotel’s address, a current digital copy of a passport-sized photo, and the completed online application form are needed.
You can print the confirmation receipt after completing the online submission process. When you arrive at the airport, you can show it to the immigration officer and pay the appropriate money to obtain your visa.
