Detail Itinerary of 8 Days Bhutan Tour - 8 Days

Day 1: Arrive Paro, drive to Thimphu (2320m) Duration 1 hours 30 minutes

Beautiful and stunning views of the world’s Himalayan Mountains can be seen throughout the trip into the Himalayas. Mount Everest (8848m, 29,198ft) and other Himalayan peak ranges can be seen if the weather permits. Following your hotel check-in, an agency representative will meet you at the airport and take you to Thimphu, the country’s capital. Visit Tamchhog Lhakhang, which is on the other side of the river, in route to Thimphu. Thang Thong Gyalpo, a Tibetan who constructed several iron bridges around Bhutan, constructed this temple. Kuenselcholing’s Perspective: The Buddha point (Kuensel Phodrang) is a fantastic location to obtain a good view over the Thimphu valley. Once more, the town is only a short drive away. The Buddha is the biggest statue in the nation, and you can pay your respects and offer prayers to him before strolling around and admiring the valley. The Memorial Chorten was built in 1974 as a tribute to King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck, the third monarch of Bhutan and generally considered the founder of modern Bhutan. The name Tashichho Dzong translates to “Fortress of Glorious Religion.” In 1641, Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel constructed it. It contains the central monk body, the throne room and king’s office, and the secretariat building.Later, unwind for the day and take a city walk. In Thimphu, spend the night.

Hike to Cheri Monastery in the morning, which includes Jigme Dorji Wild Life Sanctuary and Dodina: The hike to Cheri Goemba (Cheri DorjiDhen) takes about an hour (to and fro). This monastery was constructed in 1620 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, who also formed the first monastic body there. Handmade paper has been conserved throughout the millennia and is considered an important national legacy of Bhutanese cultural identity. Both at home and abroad, the traditional paper is respected and well-known.

The weekend market is held every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Like the London street markets, people swarm the stalls every day, dressed in vibrant clothing, and congregate to mingle and exchange goods.Bhutan Craft Bazaar: Various high-end products from all over the country were available at the private stalls, including wood-carved national symbols, bags and western clothing with a touch of traditional designs, Bangchung, Dhapa, jewelry box key hangers, bookmarks, handmade packing papers (Deysho) with various patterns, antiques, and more. The stalls provide a pleasant, welcoming ambiance and a strikingly rich view with delicate shades of elegance. Even some communities, rivers, and crane roosting grounds will be visible to you.Museum of Trongsa: For centuries, the Ta Dzong was the watch tower, ideally located above the Trongsadzong. Choeje Minjur Tempa constructed it in 1652.In addition to having cutting-edge technology, the museum has a media room where guests can view a documentary about the monarchy’s past. The Austrian government provided the Nu. 97 million needed to repair and turn the Ta Dzong into a museum. The hike across the fields from the road takes roughly thirty minutes. In addition to being painted on their walls, wooden phalluses are frequently seen hanging in the four corners of homes. Day 6: Drivr from Punakha / Wangdue to Paro (2200m) Duration 5-6 hours

Drive to Paro in the morning and stop by Rimpung Dzong: Despite being enormous architectural constructions used for a range of purposes across the nation, including administrative buildings, monasteries, and temples, the Bhutanese Dzongs are remarkably attractive and well-planned. Naturally, this is also true of the Rimpung Dzong, which was constructed in 1644 under the reign of the energetic spiritual and political leader Zhabdrung and is renowned as the “fortress of the heap of diamonds” in the gorgeous Paro valley. One of the earliest Thongdol (giant scroll paintings) is ceremoniously unfurled here once a year as part of the Tsechu festival.

One of Bhutan’s two holiest and oldest temples is Kichu Lhakhang (Monastery). Songtsen Gampo, a Tibetan king, constructed it in the seventh century. Drugyeldzong is a historically significant wrecked dzong. Zhabdrung constructed it in 1649 to honor the Drukpas’ triumph over the Tibetan invasion in 1644. This triumph was extremely significant to the region’s history, and the Bhutanese still remember and celebrate it with great vigor. You can get an amazing view of the holy Jhomolhari (Mountain of Goddess) with its white dome on a clear day from 7326m (24176ft).

Day 7: Full day sightseeing in Paro (2200m) Duration 5-6 hours

Trek in the morning to Taktshang Monastery, also known as Tiger’s Nest: Perched 800 meters (2640 feet) atop an apparently vertical cliff, this is Bhutan’s most iconic cultural landmark. Despite being inexplicably and tragically destroyed by fire in April 1998, it has now been brought back to its original splendor. The famous tantric guru Guru Rimopche/Padmasambhava (2nd Buddha) is said to have flown to the location of the monastery on the back of a tigress in the eighth century. (A five-hour hike that includes both easy and steep terrain, as well as some decent and stony foot paths.) It will cost an additional $25 USD each person to ride a horse upward.

See a Farmhouse: Amidst fields and hillsides, the valley is dotted with charming farm buildings. We invite you to take advantage of the Paro farmers’ hospitality. Enjoy the sincere grins of the farmers as they greet you at their homes. The two- to three-story Bhutanese farm buildings are traditionally constructed and have a magnificent appearance with lintels and outside walls that are colorfully adorned. An intriguing look into a farming family’s way of life can be had by visiting a farm residence. (The cost of a hot stone bath at the farm house is an additional $25 USD per person.) Later, take a walk around town to observe how people live there.
