3 Star HotelTrip Introduction of Annapurna Base Camp Trek 11 days
Annapurna Base Camp Trek, you can get to the base of the tenth-highest peak in the world. This famous trek is similar to the Everest base camp in Nepal. But, since Everest BC has altitude, you should not worry about it. Our 11-day journey to Annapurna Base Camp is not too physically demanding. On the other hand, we have to deal with some altitude while traveling. The shorter journey, however, passes through intriguingly varied landscape and offers some incredible wildlife and cultural experiences. The verdant surrounds bring you joy throughout the day. Above all, Annapurna I (8091m) and Dhaulagiri I (8167m), the tallest mountains in the world, are regularly visible. Our highest point along this path is base camp, which is 4130 meters above sea level. Above all, the elevation of Annapurna Base Camp offers us the amazing advantages of breathtaking scenery from our earlier journey. This is going to be an exciting adventure!
In June 1950, the first 8,000-meter peak to reach the summit was Mt. Annapurna. The daring mountaineer Maurice Herzog wrote this well-known tale. We certainly cherish our journey today because of the adventures of that glorious era. We trek through rhododendron-flowering forests, snow-capped mountains, and verdant scenery. The welcoming, charming villages surrounded by breathtaking scenery also astound us. Stated differently, this is the main goal of the trek to Annapurna Base Camp. Interacting with people and learning more about their cultures, for example, will be enjoyable. Quite rapidly, we learn Learn why this business is among the most well-known worldwide. Additionally, we travel to our destination via Mt. Machhapuchhre, also known as Fishtail, which is incredibly beautiful and well-liked by the locals.
During these difficult times, we know you have been itching to explore well-known paths and get back in touch with nature. Just walk at your own speed as you work on social distancing. We love exploring the outdoors, and we hope you do too. Try our “Annapurna Base Camp Trek via Poon Hill – 15 days” if you have the time and are searching for a thrilling adventure. You might be quite grateful for the choice. We promise to protect you from the Covid-19 virus. In these unpredictable times, your complete safety is our first priority.
The walk offers a variety of heights, which is one of its best features. You will begin your ascent in Pokhara at about 823 meters (2,700 feet) and reach the magnificent Mount Annapurna Base Camp at 4,131 meters (13,545 feet). The journey will be new every day because of the elevation and scenery changes.
This journey is made to accommodate a range of tastes and price ranges, whether you are searching for an Annapurna Base Camp Package for Nepali or you are visiting from overseas. So prepare for the journey of a lifetime at Mt. Annapurna Base Camp by packing your bags and putting on your boots!

Detail information about the trip
Upgscale your Hotel Stay in Pokhara
Although our the Annapurna base camp trek is possible in every four seasons of Nepal, the best window however will be the autumn running between September and November, and spring running between March and May. The weather during these seasons is particularly consistent, warm, and dry, creating a fantastic time for hikers to enjoy stunning mountain views.
Spring brings warm sunshine and vibrant rhododendron forests bursting with red, white, and pink blooms. Meanwhile, autumn offers a very transparent blue and clear sky with mesmerizingly beautiful views of the snow-topped peaks. But be mindful that these are also the peak time in Nepal Himalayas so you may have to deal with the heavy crowd on the trail.
If you like to trek in the off-season times of monsoon and winter, then you have to be ready for the tougher weather. You can trek during the monsoon months of June, July, and August, but you will have to tackle the muddy trails, cloudy skies, heavy rain, and limited mountain visibility.
In winter, between December through February, trekking becomes quite challenging due to snow and freezing temperatures at base camps.
Can new hikers take part in our Annapurna base camp trek 11 days Adventure?
Yes, even if you are not familiar with high-altitude trekking, you can totally take part in our short Annapurna base camp trek. The trail to ABC has been set up nicely with good infrastructure. The track also does not require any special skills to navigate. However, you do have to keep in mind that as you move along, you will go deeper into the wilderness and may also encounter steep cliffs and a dry mountain setting.
Therefore, you need to be physically and mentally tough to face the challenges ahead. If you think you can deal with the long walks each day and keep yourself in good shape with a strong drive, then this trek is perfectly doable for you. So no matter, whether you are a lone traveler, exploring with friends, or have young children with you or you are just a retiree, we will be thrilled to take you along on our ABC short trek.
However, if you are expecting, or have any serious health problems, especially related to your heart or lungs, please talk to your doctor before joining us.
Threat of AMS/Altitude Sickness in the Annapurna base camp trek
Altitude sickness is very uncommon in our 11 days Annapurna base camp trek as the maximum elevation you will attain is only 4130 m at the Annapurna Base Camp. You will ascend to above 3000 m only on day 4 when you trek from Chomrong to Deurali, after which you will surpass the 4,000 m mark the next day when making your way to ABC. At ABC, you will spend one night at the adjacent lodge and the following day, you will again descend to Bamboo Village at 2310 m. So it means, that only two days of the ABC short trek will be a bit demanding for you with the possibility of developing Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS).
It is because of the thin air of Deurali and ABC that you may show milder signs of altitude sickness. Such as nausea, mild headaches, difficulty in breathing, and a loss of appetite. In such incidents, you should either walk down to the lower village or you may choose to remain in your current location and rest adequately depending on how our guide will decide appropriate for you. If you like to have additional assistance in acclimatizing to the high altitudes, Diamox medicine can be a great option for you provided you don’t have any contraindications against the usage of the drug.
To better yet prevent the AMS, you should move very slowly and prepare your body in advance by achieving the necessary fitness levels. Throughout the trek, you should also keep hydrated by consuming approximately three liters of water daily. You should also limit your intake of alcohol, food, and cigarettes to enhance your body’s ability to cope with the elevation.
Preparation and Training for the Annapurna base camp trek
Our 11 days Annapurna Base Camp Trek can be easy for those who are very well-prepared and at the same time, it can be tough for those who do not prepare themselves adequately. For this trek, you really need to be both physically and mentally ready before you hit the trail. Here’s what you need to focus on to prepare for the trek:
Cardiovascular fitness: You should be able to handle the altitude and steep trails, so focus on cardio workouts like running, cycling, or swimming to boost your endurance.
Leg strength: Since you will be climbing and descending a lot, strength training for your legs is very important. Exercises like squats, lunges, and leg presses will help you build that strength.
Flexibility: Staying flexible can help you avoid injuries and make those long hikes more manageable. Try adding yoga or Pilates to your routine for better flexibility.
Mental resilience: The trek can be tough on your mind, so it is essential to develop mental endurance. Mindfulness practices, meditation, and visualization can really help with this.
Short Hikes: It will also be a good idea to do some shorter treks first to get used to the altitude and build your stamina.
Accommodation and Dining
Throughout our 11 days Annapurna base camp trek, we provide you two nights of accommodation in standard three-star hotels, such as Hotel Thamel Park, Hotel Manang, or establishments of a similar category. In Pokhara also, you will enjoy a pleasant stay of two nights at a three-star hotel located by the serene lakeside. Your accommodation in both cities will include a twin-sharing room equipped with an en suite bathroom and hot shower, along with 24-hour access to Wi-Fi.
During the trek, standard lodges in the overnight villages will be your resting places. Because the Annapurna region has developed in recent years due to its popularity, you may also enjoy the amenities of private bathrooms, hot water, and Wi-Fi.
However, please understand that such lodges may not always be available, so you may have to compromise with shared toilet facilities. In these lodges, you will share a room with fellow travelers of the same gender.
As for meals, you will get breakfast every morning in Kathmandu and Pokhara, while lunches and dinners will be self-catered. During the trek, you will be served main courses for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Please note that if you order a Nepalese meal of Dal Bhat Tarkari, you can get a second and third portion for free, excluding meat so eat as much as you like.
Transportation
Our comprehensive short Annapurna base camp trek package includes all your necessary transfers to and from international and domestic airports with convenient pick-up and drop-off services via car or jeep.
Additionally, we will also coordinate all your flights between Pokhara and Kathmandu. For local ground transportation, a car or jeep will facilitate your transfer from Pokhara to Siwai and from Naya Pul back to Pokhara.
Essential Permits for ABC Short Trek
For the short Annapurna base camp trek. We will need to have two very mandatory permits on our hands: the TIMS (Trekkers’ Information Management System) and the ACAP (Annapurna Conservation Area Project) permits. The TIMS permit requires the cost of NPR 2000 per trekker and helps manage trekkers on any route in Nepal during emergencies. On the other hand, the ACAP permit needs the cost of NPR 3000 per trekker which gives you access to the Annapurna region’s restricted areas.
We will take care of all the fees and the application process for you.
11 days Annapurna base camp trek Vs. 14 Days Annapurna Base Camp Trek
Both the 11-day and 14-day travel programs will ultimately take you to ABC. The major attractions in both treks include the Machhapuchhre Base Camp, located at an altitude of 3,700 meters, which provides magnificent views of Machhapuchhre Peak, also known as Fish Tail. Another main attraction is the ABC itself where you will be surrounded by impressive glaciers and the towering Annapurna range, while the hot springs of Jhinu Danda are yet another highlight where you can regenerate after a long journey.
There are also many more attractions in both the travel program such as the exploration of Pokhara and Kathmandu, along with the opportunity to experience the natural beauty and cultural richness of the Annapurna region. However, the main difference between the two programs is the number of hiking days. The Annapurna base camp trek 10 days program omits the trek to Ghorepani and Poon Hill to shorten the hiking Travel Time so it is suitable for those who are pressed for time.
On the other hand, the 14-day program extends the hiking days by including the trek to Ghorepani and Poon Hill, which is an exceptional viewpoint for witnessing the sunrise over the magnificent Himalayas. Thus, if you can spare an extra four days, the longer program would be preferable.
Travel Insurance
The short Annapurna base camp trek is a very captivating and motivating journey that mixes gentleness as well as some steeply challenging paths. Because of this, there is also a risk of accidents, which could lead to some significant medical costs.
You may face anything from a few bruises to serious injuries that may need urgent help. If you have insurance that covers medical care or emergency evacuations, you can enjoy your hike without worry. That’s why it’s a good idea that you opt for comprehensive mountain travel insurance for your ABC short trek, as it provides more extensive coverage.
Typically, your insurance policy should include medical bills, protection against unexpected health problems, lost luggage, rescue services, and compensation for canceled trips or flights. Additionally, remember that you need travel insurance to get the necessary permits for our trip. When you make your booking, please send us a copy of your policy as well.
Most people ask about the trip - FAQs
How long is the Annapurna Base Camp trek?
Depending on your schedule and speed, the trip to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) typically takes seven to twelve days. The 11-day option is the most popular since it allows you enough time to take in the breathtaking landscape, get used to the surroundings, and learn about the local way of life. You can also do it in seven or eight days if you are pressed for time, but you may feel hurried.
Is it possible to complete the Annapurna Circuit in ten days?
Yes, it’s feasible to complete the Annapurna Circuit in 10 days, but it’s a bit of a fast-paced adventure! The complete circuit generally takes approximately 15-20 days, so cramming it into 10 means you’ll be bypassing some sections or relying on transit for certain parts. Expect lengthy trekking days with little opportunity for side excursions.
Is the Annapurna Circuit doable in seven days?
That is a pretty short time for the whole Annapurna Circuit. It would be challenging to accomplish the entire circuit, even though some sections could be done in that period of time. With a 7-day schedule, most tourists focus on shorter, more interesting sections, like Jomsom to Muktinath, or employ buses and jeeps for faster transit between destinations.
How difficult is the 11-day Annapurna Base Camp Trek?
The 11-day trek to Annapurna Base Camp is rated as moderately challenging. Although it is not easy, anyone with a reasonable level of fitness and perseverance may accomplish it. There will be some challenging ascents, particularly in the vicinity of Chhomrong and Deurali, but the scenery and sense of accomplishment will make the effort worthwhile! There are also plenty of teahouses to stop at along the way, and the paths are clearly marked.
Is Everest easier than Annapurna Base Camp?
The Annapurna Base Camp trek is not as exhausting as the Everest Base Camp (EBC) trek, but it is still challenging. Altitude sickness is less common on Annapurna since it is lower in elevation (4,131m/13,545ft) than Everest (5,364m/17,598ft). Furthermore, because Annapurna is shorter, trekkers with less experience with high-altitude expeditions may find it somewhat easier to handle.
What was the death toll on Annapurna?
Unfortunately, among the highest mountains in the world, Annapurna has one of the worst death rates. Due in major part to avalanches and erratic weather, more than 70 climbers have died while attempting to reach the summit of this peak. However, the hiking route to Annapurna Base Camp is significantly safer and has a very low risk for trekkers.
How many people die in Annapurna?
Approximately 32% of climbers die on Annapurna I, making it one of the world’s deadliest mountains. This figure is for people trying to reach the summit, not the much safer trekking routes to base camp.
Is it safe to trek to Annapurna Base Camp?
Yes, it is normally extremely safe to trek to Annapurna Base Camp! Every year, thousands of hikers successfully finish the well-established trail without experiencing any significant problems. Altitude sickness is the primary cause for concern, so be sure to appropriately acclimate and pay attention to your body. Trekking with a group or guide is always a good idea for extra support and safety.
Can a beginner climb Annapurna?
Yes, even beginners may successfully do the Annapurna Base Camp Trek with a little preparation! Although prior hiking experience is not necessary, it is advantageous to be physically active. Planning ahead with long hikes and endurance training will make the adventure more enjoyable. However, climbing Annapurna I is a totally different story and should only be done by experienced, professional climbers.
