After traveling to Dumre along the Prithivi Highway, the bus will head north to Besishar and then to Bhulbhule (845 m), where your trek will begin.
Accommodations
Ten nights will be spent at the highest lodges or teahouses in the hike area. You will stay in rooms with connected bathrooms at Jagat, Dharapani, Chame, Pisang, Manag (2 N), and Muktinath for seven of these ten nights.
In Bhulbhule, Yak Kharka, and Thorang Phedi, you will be accommodated in regular rooms. Every room is shared by two people. The majority of lodges offer hot showers, Wi-Fi for internet access, and power for charging electronics, though these extras may be charged.
Meals
We serve eleven breakfasts, nine dinners, and nine lunches in the trek areas. All meals are provided as full-board meals.Your menu offers Western, Asian, and traditional regional cuisine, but as you progress, the options get increasingly limited.
To keep you going during the hike, however, we make sure you eat nutritious meals. We suggest that you try some of the most popular Nepali foods, such as chowmein (noodles), dal (lentils), bhat (rice), momo (dumplings), and tarkari (curry).
We strongly recommend drinking plenty of water throughout the hike, including ginger, green, and lemon tea, hot lemon, garlic soup (which is mandatory), and fresh vegetables at higher elevations.
We do not recommend using non-vegetarian options because of hygienic concerns, even though they are available in the hiking areas. Similarly, avoid dairy items, alcoholic beverages, caffeinated beverages, and hot chocolate.
Luggage
Porters are assigned to carry your bags, however you can only weigh up to 9 kg. Two hikers’ worth of luggage, weighing no more than 18 kg, can be carried by one porter. Therefore, we suggest that you pack your belongings in a duffel bag that can hold more than sixty liters and travel with a fellow hiker.
We advise you to only bring the necessities for the hike. We have a store where you can keep extra luggage. We also anticipate that you will have a small backpack with you for important documents, valuables, and frequently used items like a water bottle.
Communication
Your lead guide will continue to communicate with our colleagues in Kathmandu, giving them phone updates on your progress. For dependable communication, we advise you to purchase a local SIM card in Kathmandu. The signals might not be powerful enough at high heights, though.
Visa
You need a valid visa in order to enter Nepal. Fortunately, most visitors can get an on-arrival visa at Kathmandu’s International Airport. To obtain an on-arrival visa, you must have a passport with at least six months left on it, a passport-size photo, and an application fee. The application fee is based on how long you plan to remain. The current rate is USD 50 for a 30-day stay.
Travel Insurance
Travel insurance that covers emergency helicopter evacuation up to 5,500 meters and medical costs is mandatory. Please call your insurer to find out if helicopter evacuation up to 5,500 meters is covered by your policy.
Extra Expenses
Major trek-related expenses are covered by our program, but not all of them. Your stay in Kathmandu will cost money. Similar to this, you will also need to pay for Wi-Fi, meals in Pokhara, lodge fees, tips, and souvenirs. You will require approximately USD 15 per journey day, depending on your spending patterns.
Trek Season and Weather Conditions
While the experience changes by season, the walk may be done at any time of year. With clear skies, blooming rhododendrons along the trails, and mild temperatures (0–8 °C at high elevations), spring (March–May) is the best time of year to go trekking.
Because of the clear skies, pleasant weather, and cultural festivals, autumn (September to November) is another great time of year for trekking. With breathtaking views, high altitude temperatures can reach 20 °C during the day and 5 °C at night.
The summer months of June through August bring a lot of rain, which makes the paths slick. With rich green scenery in the valleys, high elevations see daytime temperatures of 10–23 °C and nighttime temperatures of 5–10 °C.
While it is extremely cold at high elevations, with daily temperatures as low as -10°C, trekking is nevertheless feasible during the winter months of December through February. But in the winter, experienced hikers looking for solitude are drawn to the area by the beautiful skies and snow-capped summits.
