3 Star HotelTrip Introduction of 22 Days Kanchenjunga Circuit Trek
Mt. Kanchenjunga is the third-highest mountain in the world, standing at 8586 meters. This journey circles this enormous peak and crosses the boundary between Tibet and India’s Sikkim. On Kanchenjunga, the north and south base camps are secluded, immaculate, and sure to captivate you. The memories made on this journey to celestial heights will last a lifetime.
The trail has a number of difficulties, including the high Lapsang La Pass (5108m), Sinon/Mirgin La Pass (4650m) , and Kanchenjunga Base Camp (5140m).”Five pearls of the snow” (Mt.Kanchenjunga) is contained inside the 1997-created Kanchenjunga conservation area, which spans 2035 square kilometers.
WWF classifies the Kanchenjunga Conservation Area Project (KCAP) as a Global Eco Region. Numerous species, including as the elusive snow leopard, musk deer, blue sheep, rhesus macaw, red panda, and wild bear, can be found in this area. The rich birdlife on the journey brings the trees to life. An estimated 1200 distinct flowering plant species, 69 orchid variations, and 30 rhododendron species adorn the trail, especially in the spring.
In addition to Kanchenjunga, there are four peaks that reach above 8,000m, including Kanchenjunga West, also known as Yalung Kang (8,586m). Over seventeen summits are higher than 7000m, including Kambachen (7,903m), Janu (7,710m), Jongsong (7,483m), Kabru (7,353m), Tent Peak (7,365m), and the Twins (7,350m).There are several mountains that rise above 6,000 meters in addition to these titans.
Five massive glaciers round this amazing collection of peaks: the Zumu, Talung, and Rathong glaciers flow into Sikkim, while the Yulang and Kanchenjunga glaciers in the west empty into Nepal’s majestic, swift-moving Tamor River.

When would be a good time to visit?
The optimum seasons to begin this expedition are autumn and spring, while Kanchenjunga is reachable throughout the year. One of the main reasons these two seasons are perfect for the Kanchenjunga hike is the weather. There are no weather-related difficulties during either of these seasons; the weather is dry, steady, and pleasant. Even at high elevations, these popular travel times guarantee a comfortable and secure trip.
Similarly, the region has pleasant sunshine, clear skies, and comfortable temperatures. The nights are often colder, but the days are typically warmer. The gorgeous snow-capped Himalayas, as well as the softly rolling green slopes and mountain valleys, seem breathtaking at this time of year.
Spring season
The greatest season to trek the Kanchenjunga is in the spring, from March to May. With gorgeous, snow-capped mountains all around, the scenery is breathtaking. The hills, which are typically green, become vivid when flowers bloom along them. The routes are surrounded by crisp mountain air and clear blue skies.
Since it is the busiest travel season, there will not be any weather-related problems, including more intense rain, snow, wind, etc. It is the perfect time of year for hiking because of the mild weather. This time of year offers the most incredible, life-changing experience for those who are somewhat fit enough to hike the Kanchenjunga.
Autumn season
The second-best season for the Kanchenjunga hike is autumn, which runs from September to November. Trekkers can enjoy the stunning view of the mountain range blanketed with snow. This season is well known for its perfect weather, serene surroundings, and tranquil atmosphere, among other things. It is also a cultural time in the area, with many festivals such as Dashain, Tihar, and Chaath. Another appealing aspect of trekking in the Kanchenjunga region is the fall foliage; there are fewer weather-related problems when there is no snow, rain, or cloud cover, and there will not be any muddy or slick paths because there have not been any major storms. The post-monsoon season, which comes after the monsoon season, revitalizes the area by clearing the landscapes and restoring their vibrancy.
Off-season trek
The Kanchenjunga Trek’s off-seasons are summer, monsoon, and winter. June marks the start of the summer monsoon, which lasts until August. At this time of year, the temperature is high and muggy. Along with other weather-related difficulties, this season will bring a lot of rainfall. Mudslides, avalanches, and slick paths are all possible. Consequently, there can be a large number of weather-related traveler casualties.
The area has frigid temperatures and a lot of snowfall throughout the winter months. December is when it begins, and February is when it ends. The cold temperatures will make the trek extremely difficult for trekkers. You will experience a number of challenges, such as frostbite and hypothermia. Nonetheless, the beautiful vistas of the snow-capped Alps are magnificent.
Although it is not recommended to trek during the off-season, if you must, make sure you are adequately prepared and have the appropriate gear. Along the journey, you may encounter a number of issues and discomforts. On the other hand, you can trek in the off-season if you prepare beforehand.
Accommodations and Food
The Kanchenjunga Circuit Trek has traditionally been a camping trek due to the difficult terrain of Mt. Kanchenjunga. However, the continuous growth of small hut lodgings along the path has turned Kanchenjunga into a teahouse hike.
Food and accommodation are sometimes viewed as obstacles on this challenging journey. The food and lodging options for this high-altitude climb are somewhat basic. They provide facilities including toilets, restrooms, and motels. Nevertheless, these beautiful tea houses offer guests a cozy setting at high altitudes. They also provide a nice supper and cozy accommodations.
There are places along the trail where you should pitch your tent because there are not many teahouses. You will not have to worry about anything because we will take care of all the food and accommodation. The restrooms in these tea cafes are tiny and outside. Although they are more costly, some teahouses in the lower districts include additional conveniences like WiFi, charging, hot water, and more. However, as time goes on, obtaining these services becomes more difficult.
Food is the most important factor when trekking. Your diet has a significant impact on your health because eating poorly increases your risk of being ill at high elevations. High-calorie foods that provide you energy throughout the day are what you should be eating. Food options for the Kanchenjunga Circuit Trek are extremely limited.
“Dal Bhat,” a traditional Nepalese cuisine consisting of rice, lentils, dal, pickles, vegetables, and additional ingredients, is served at these tea rooms. Breakfast will consist of oatmeal, hard-boiled eggs, and toast. In addition to these, hot beverages in the area include coffee, tea, hot drinks, and garlic soup, among others. Some teahouses also serve various cuisines, including noodles, thukpa, momo, chowmein, and others. Additionally, you can buy snacks like granola bars, protein bars, and dried fruits.
