Trip Introduction of Pisang Peak Climbing

Pisang Peak climbing is an excellent choice for people who like to combine a climbing adventure with a trekking vacation. If you are looking for a thrilling and adventurous adventure with amazing landscapes, the Pisang Peak climbing excursion is perfect.

In the Annapurna region of the Manang district in the northern part of Nepal, Pisang Peak is situated between two enormous peaks, Annapurna I and Manaslu. At 6091 meters above sea level, it resembles a pyramid made of rock, ice, and snow. The peak offers some of the most striking views of Manaslu, Annapurna, Ganesh Himal, Tilicho Peak, Chulu East, Nawal Peak, Gyaji Kang, Kuchubhro Peak, and Kang Guru Peak.

The first successful ascent of Pisang Peak was accomplished by a German group in 1955. Since then, Pisang summit has become more well-known as an easy summit to climb that offers climbers a fascinating journey through numerous ecosystems, civilizations, and stunning landscapes.

While visiting Pisang Peak, you will see the world’s deepest valley, lush rice fields, dry deserts, pine forests, and the most breathtaking waterfalls. We will cross the magnificent cultural villages of the Thakalis, Gururngs, Tamangs, Magars, and Sherpas. These individuals, who are well known for their bravery, honesty, and diligence, will make every effort to greet, help, and make you feel at home.

On our Pisang Peak climbing excursion, which also travels via the holy site of Muktinath, you will discover Mustang’s hidden jewel after reaching the summit. You will also come across one of the highest passes, the so-called Thorong La Pass. Because of all these features, this trip is one of the most popular treks in Nepal.

How does our adventure start?

We begin our journey to Pisang Peak in the busy metropolis of Nepal. After that, we take a car to Syange and hike via the villages of Chame, Dharapani, and Upper Pisang. We next leave the Anapurna trail and head to the base camp at Pisang Peak.

After we spend the night in the tent, the path leads to the high camp. From here, we head to the peak of Pisang Peak, which has stunning views, early the next morning.

Once we reach the summit, we travel to Manang via the conventional Annapurna route, crossing the Thorong La Pass to get to the dry regions of Jomson and Muktinath. After that, we fly to Pokhara and drive back to Kathmandu.

Detail information about the trip

Information about the Climbing Trip to Pisang Peak

The Best Time to Climb Pisang Peak

Autumn (September to November) is the ideal season to climb Pisang Peak because of the more consistent weather and lower chance of avalanches. Spring (April to May), when there will still be some snow throughout the steep slopes and base camp, is the second best time to climb the mountain. As winter fades and leaves its mark, the days will continue to be colder.

Distance and Elevation

6091 meters above sea level. You will also reach Thorong La Pass’s highest point, which is 5416 meters, on the Pisang Pek climbing expedition.

Syange, a tiny community 150 kilometers from the city, is where the journey starts. In contrast, Pisang Peak is located 152 kilometers north of Kathmandu.

Daily Walk Maximum and Minimum

We will start our 18-day trip from Syange and continue for 12 days to reach the peak of Pisang Peak. We will walk 10 to 15 km per day for about 5 to 7 hours. On day eight, we will proceed from Upper Pisang to Pisang Base Camp, which will be the shortest and simplest walk.

When we set out to cross the Thorong La Pass and descend to Muktinath on day 14 of our itinerary, it will be the most difficult. This will be the longest walking day of our trip, lasting seven to nine hours.

Acclimatization and Difficulty

Pisang Peak is regarded as a moderately tough alpine climb. It is categorized as an alpine climb at the PD+ level. Slopes up to 45° or 50° with fixed ropes are the primary challenges. To climb on a fixed rope, you must know how to use the jumar and be at ease with crampons.

Our plan calls for a slow ascent of Pisang Peak, with two days off in between each expedition. The first day of rest will be spent in Kathmandu, and the second day will be spent in Upper Pisang. We shall also go gently toward the summit. We will trek for at least three to five hours from base camp till the day we climb the peak. This will allow us enough time to adjust to the high alpine environment completely.

Can beginners reach Pisang Peak?

Pisang Peak is regarded as one of Nepal’s easier trekking peaks. However, keep in mind that Pisang Peak is a climbing peak that is higher than 6000 meters. While sophisticated technical mountaineering skills are not necessary to climb the Peak, prior high-altitude experience, physical fitness, and a solid understanding of fundamental mountaineering tactics required.

You may hike up to Pisang Base Camp, which likewise offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas, if reaching the peak is not your thing.rogram.

Preparation and training Pisang Peak Climbing

You can prepare for the hiking part of the Pisang Peak climbing trip by leading an active lifestyle. Jogging, swimming, cycling, and running are all excellent starting points. You can then go hiking in your hometown at a high altitude.

To prepare for the climbing section of the trip, we advise you to first increase your stamina by taking a high-altitude trek in Nepal, such as Annapurna or EBC. After climbing the simpler peaks of Mera or Lobuche, you may decide to reach the Pisang Peak.

Pisang Peak Climbing Alternate Route

Pisang Peak can be ascended via the north ridge or the southwest ridge. We take the conventional path, which is from North Ridge. Avalanches are more common and the approach to the peak from the southwest ridge is somewhat more difficult.

You may hike up to Pisang Base Camp, which likewise offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas, if reaching the peak is not your thing.

Altitude Sickness

Altitude sickness is unquestionably a serious possibility during our climbing trip to Pisang Peak. According to our program, you will progressively raise your altitude each day. After reaching a height of 4000 meters, however, your body is vulnerable to the mild symptoms of altitude sickness, which disappear in two or three days.

We advise you to be mindful of your body, exercise slowly, and stay hydrated. In extreme cases, our experienced guide may choose to completely stop the trip or go down to a lower altitude.

Meals, Drinks, and Transportation

Our guiding principle is that tourists should enjoy themselves while in Nepal. They should not worry about the expense, the paperwork, or the trouble of booking a trip or a place to stay.

In keeping with the concept, our program provides housing, transportation, and meal services. We will pick you up and drop you off at the airport in a private vehicle.

Additionally, we offer a private drive to Syange and a flight from Jomsom back to Pokhara. At the end of the trip, you will return to Kathmandu on a luxurious tourist bus.

In terms of meals, we offer complimentary breakfast in Pokhara and Kathmandu as well as breakfast, lunch, and dinner for hiking and climbing. At the base and high camp, our team will prepare three meals along with tea or coffee.

Internet/wifi, gadget charging, and communication

You will have uninterrupted communication, charging, and internet access during the trip to Pisang Peak. Up till Dharapani, you might be able to connect to WiFi and charge your device for free. If you are from Upper Pisang, expect to pay more for these services.

If you want to save money, you can purchase NTC or NCELL SIM for a mobile connection and data package. However, a poor internet connection may occur at high elevations.

Permits of Pisang Peak Climbing

An ACAP (Annapurna Conservation Area Permit), a Pisang Peak climbing permit, and a TIMS card (Trekkers’ Information Management Systems) are required in order to climb Pisang Peak. Our package includes both the service and the fee.
