Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m) transfer to hotel.

Arrival at Kathmandu airport, you will be met by a representative from Everest Summit Treks & Expedition who will take you to your 3-star hotel. You can rest at your hotel or stroll around Thamel and do some last-minute shopping and take in the sights.

Day 2: Drive from Kathmandu to Machhakhola (870m) Duration: 7-8 hours

Today we drive from Kathmandu to Soti Khola driving through Dhading Beshi and Arughat. The road deteriorates and is quite rough and bumpy from Dhading to Arughat. This afternoon we follow a trail through the woods heading upriver along the banks of the Budhi Gandaki River and then across the mountains from where we have frequent views down to the river far below. Tonight we will stay at a guesthouse at Machha Khola.

Day 3: Trek from Machha Khola to Jagat (1,410 m ) Duration: 6-7 hours.

Today is a 6 to 7-hour trek following the river to the original route follows the river to Khorla Besi and to the therapeutic hot springs at Tatopani (930m). After leaving Tatopani we follow the trail along the east bank of the continuing on the eastern bank of the Buri Gandaki to reach Doban, Thulo Dunga, and Yara Bagar (1370m). The trail frequently crosses back and forth over the river on suspension bridges before entering the main entrance to the Manaslu Conservation Area and finally Jagat (1410m). Day 4: Trek from Jagat to Lokpa (2,240m) Duration: 5-6 hours.

We travel through Dhading Beshi and Arughat on our way from Machha Khola tonight.We begin our seven-hour journey today, first arriving at Salleri, where we can enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Sringi, and then making our way down to Sirdibas, a traditional Buddhist settlement. The trail goes on till we arrive to Lokpa Village, which is located immediately north of Philim. After that, we pass via Ekle Bhatti and ascend to a ridge by a pine forest track. At a crossroads, we turn onto the path that leads to Tsum Valley. We’ll remain in the teahouse.

Today we start by crossing a suspension bridge where we have amazing views of the Ganesh Himal. The trail continues and takes us past Rainjam and across Seru Khola before arriving at Gho Village. After a total of 5 to 6 hours trekking, we reach Chokhangparo. A village from where we have views of Himalchuli (7893m) and Ganesh Himal (7140m). We will stay at teahouse.

Day 12: Drive from machha Khola to Kathmandu (1,350m) Duration: 7-8 hours.

Our final day of the trek descends past another stunning waterfall and on to soti khola, Arkhet Khola which is the end of the Budhi Gandaki Valley. We pass through the villages of Sante Bazaar and Malta. The last leg of our trek takes us past the hydroelectric power plant and then we reach Arughat where we will rest for a while before taking the bus back to Kathmandu – a 3-hour road trip. Tonight we will stay in a 3-star hotel in Kathmandu.

Is 13 days Tsum Valley trekking possible for the beginners?

Tsum Valley trek is arduous but not impossible. One requires proper physical health and fitness, but you don’t need prior experience.

The 13 day Tsum Valley trek is feasible due to its straightforward learning process. Neither it is easy because it’s not a serving food on your plate. Your hike will be moderately streneous. You must have capabilities to walking 6–8 hours a day. Hiking to higher altitudes is much tougher than letting down your steps to the lower altitudes. You can easily conquer this trip if you are physically fit, strong, determined, and mentally conscious.

Moderate difficult – the path is fairly tough compare to Manaslu Circuit

Fitness & Health – You must need good fitness and excellent health because uphill climbs and bumpy terrain

Altitude Sickness – Altitude or Acute Mountain sickness would be crucial in this trip. If you possess any such health issues, you may choose to forgo the trip.

Altitude Sickness

Manaslu is the eighth highest mountain in the world, having an altitude of 8,163 meters. Throughout the trek, you have several uphill climbs and ascend to more than 5,000 meters.

When you go above 3,000 meters, the air pressure and oxygen level become low. As a result, trekkers may be suffering from acute mountain sickness, high-altitude pulmonary edema, and high-altitude cerebral edema. In addition, there are also signs of headache, nausea, vomiting, and difficulty in sleeping.

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience on the Manaslu Valley trek, we must learn how to overcome and prevent altitude sickness.

  • Take a gradual ascent during the trek. Be steady rather than fast.
  • Stay hydrated to safe you from the symptoms of dehydration and dizziness.
  • Take a diet highly rich of proteins, vitamins, and fiber

There is a low chance of rain during trekking. As a result, there are no any issues of slippery trails, mud flow or landslides. Rainy Season or Monsoon (Mid June, July & August)

Winter (December to February)

Trekking in winter is very challenging but rewarding too. During day time temperature is 5 to 10 Celsius in lower altitudes. Similarly the night temperature can drop up to -10 at the higher elevation. During the trekking, the water prices vary depending on the altitude. The higher the elevation, the more you have to pay for the water. It costs around 100 to 500 per liter on average. In addition, you can refill water in your bottle by paying a minimum amount. We also suggest you using purification tablets for the purest water.

Accommodation during MANASLU Tsum Valley Trek

We are providing proper and comfortable accommodation service during your 23 days trip. When you are in Kathmandu, we will allot you 3 stars hotel with having the facilities of in-hotel restaurant, 24/7 room services, swimming pool, gym, and spas. However, when you hike upward, your facilities turn basic from elegant.

Throughout the trekking in Manaslu, you’ll find comfortable tea houses and lodges. MANASLU Tsum Valley trek is not as widespread as the Annapurna and Everest treks, so there will be fewer facilities in the tea houses. Despite the less facilities, the room will be clean, hygienic, and comfortable.

A normal tea house in the MANASLU region offers you twin shared rooms. However, you won’t get AC or a heater. Additionally, the toilet will be in the traditional Asian style. Furthermore, you have to pay $2 to $3 USD if you want to take a hot shower.

The most intriguing thing about the MANASLU tea house is that there is a huge dining area. During the meal, you may meet other trekkers and share your experience, memories, and joy of your trip.

Permits and Documents for the Tsum Valley Trek 13 days

To get a permit for the Tsum Valley trek, some documents are necessary. These documents will give you authority and permission to travel and trek in restricted areas.
